New Acquisitions

Jun. 13th, 2006 | 06:00 pm
where I'm at: beside a bottle of Blanche de Chambly
headspace: earning it
noise: The Replacements

Seriously, sometimes the only way to get yourself out of a funk is to spend, spend, spend. All hands for spending way out of funk? Yeah. Thought so.

My newest acquisitions share some common traits:

  • They are only new to me.
  • They are both uniquely Canadian.
  • They are both practical and decorative in unlikely ways.
  • Despite my claims otherwise, I did not spend much money on them.
  • I bartered for both of them.
  • I have used versions of both of these items as interpretive devices in large national museum exhibitions.

  • Big Pink's new crap )
Otherwise, I have spent my entire day writing about, no NOT Dean and his brother, not a possessed dog ravaging Dean's thighs, nothing like that. I have spent my entire day writing about the electoral process in Canada. Head+desk=that thumping noise you hear.

But now? Now, I have earned the right to not write...but research. And what are my research vectors, those who want to know what my next Winchester-related project will be? Here are my keywords: casino, wapiti, joual. And maybe, just maybe, POUTINE.
