Well, I guess I'm flattered.

Yeah, me too. I still love John, except when I hate John, and then I'm actually loving him. He's such a big influence, and I like it when he casts a long shadow.

It was kinda thrilling, actually. I mean, I know that the story of 'going back to your old high school' is as old as, say, Welcome Back Kotter, but still. It was nice to see.

[info]big_pink

yeah, I guess high school stories are quite similar, but there were bits (goofy kid friend, knife in knapsack, English teacher recognizing Sam's potential, Sam taking on a bully, etc.) that were pretty close to what was in Dazzleland.

It's just a good thing I have Dazzleland printed out, since I am clearly going to be reading it again this weekend! Way to be prescient.

That Colin Ford kid was awesome as Sammy. And the episode as a whole was king of wrenching. Yeah, like Dazzleland.

I haven't seen it yet (damn!) but I did wonder whether the newer writers (it was the guys who wrote Yellow Fever, right?) have read some fan fic. I know Sera (I think it was Sera!) said the writers weren't allowed to read fan fic...just in case. But if those guys weren't SN writers until this year, who knows, they may well have read Dazzleland!

I'm looking forward to it even more now!

I dunno -- good point! I really enjoyed it. I gather from the comments that not everyone did, but I thought it was a blast. But you know how much I love John, so anything with John is good in my books, even if he's just driving around a car.

Ahem. Excuse me. THE car.

Did you get goosebumps watching the ep?

There must have been hundreds of fangirls thinking about you and "Dazzleland" and explaining to their freinds/lovers/husbands how Kripke must read Big_Pink. As good as the ep was, it just wasn't as good as the source material.......

I think I need to read it again now.....

Diving in a little late but had to add that my sense of deja vu was working overtime watching this too. At times it was eerie, so the experience must have been wild for you :)

I wish I would've liked teen!Dean more - both in the writing and the acting. Brock nailed Dean in brief snippets but fell flat just as often too. I think the writing for the character let him down at times too. Wee!Sam was awesomesauce though.

Hey! There you are!

It was freakin' eerie. I fully subscribe to the notion that all stories have already been written, so it's not as though I think Kripke and co are out there cribbing fanfic, but STILL.

People seem to be rather divided on teenDean. I didn't mind him, it was just that he looked about the same age and JA, so I kept thinking why bother. Oh well, what do I know?

WeeSam is indeed, truly awesome.
