Greetings, Flist!
Okay, I'll be the very first to admit that I've been utterly absent. It hasn't been my fault, okay? We can all blame a little Armenian man named Yousuf Karsh for that. He has taken over my life wholesale (not discount, not high-end -- WHOLESALE) and reduced my LJ-ing-ness to mere yammerings (when applicable) and (mostly) silences.

But I want to thank all of you guys for the birthday greetings! You guys are the best, sweetest and loveliest (yes, I fancy myself a writer, and so these sorts of puerile superlatives are the best I can come up with) bunch of wingnuts I'd care to associate myself with.

Now, because of the wee photographer, I am now going to Minneapolis in the morning where I will converse with loads and loads of art educators about various things including, probably, mid-century photography.

More later perhaps!

Cheers, thanks, all that,
Liz

*is dancing!*
Okay, not really. I'm packing, which is not quite as fun as dancing, but still fun. I had cupcakes with purple icing!

Wheeee!
Nothing can be bad if there's cupcakes.
:)

I'm so lame, i never notice *anything*. I had no clue you were an Aries, too!

I am such an Aries. So, so, so Aries. So Aries that I'm actually obnoxious.

Heeeee!
I can never actually remember what Aries are supposed to be like so i dunno if i am, or not. I shall have to Google it!

I do know my oldest brother - the only non-Aries in our family - is so definitely what he is - Gemini. Scary!

I always think of them as these overbearing, extroverted people who are very good with ideas and very poor with follow-through. Fun to be around, fire-starters, but not very kind or particularly wise.

Geminis, you mean? My brother is definitely two people in one. With the flip of a switch, which, yeah....

I think i tend to forget what an Aries 'is' because i find some of it too flattering and so don't think about it. We all want to be special! :)

No, that's Aries I mean, LOL. Geminis? Two in one. My girl is a cusp of Gemini-Cancer, but she's SUCH a Cancer...very sensitive. Pity her and her Aries mother.

You need to read some of these 'obnoxious' horoscopes, where they tell us the 'truth'. *giggles*

BWAAAAAhahahaa!
I don't 'cause i'm all 'oh, yeah, that's cool, i like that.... Of *course* i want that to be me!!'

So i usually just skim and snort at the ones that say stuff like 'Aries are very physical and love to exercise!' and move on.

Yeah, those are the nonsensical ones. Along with the loves problem solving and puzzles.

Okay, I made up that last one. I'm such an Aries, I usually don't make it to the end of the article.

P.S. I have not figured out how to leave pretty coded birthday greetings in comments yet...but if you want to drop by my journal, you've got a pretty, sparkly butterfly greeting there! :)

And, also, I think I feel better knowing I'm not the only one who seems to be under the siege of real life! Just post when you can. We'll be here.

It's hardly a scintillating post, but it IS a post.

And I had a cupcake with purple icing on it today! Yay!

I also had several chocolates, including a pesto one, a Riopelle cheese one, and an Azteka which has ginger and pepper in it.

OMFG, it only takes me, WHAT, about 2 weeks to respond to a damn comment?

I AM working too hard.

Yes, the wee Armenian fellow. I will be happy when Festival Karsh has come and gone and the poor man can rest in peace, lol. But thank god he is interesting.

I bloody LOVED Minneapolis. It's unfair, that the US gets to have so many great cities. I ate at Chino Latino. I recommend that EVERYONE should eat there. Okay, I ate there...twice!!!! I particularly liked their Crack Ho Mojitos, but then, I would.

Hey there! Things are great, actually. I'm just about to go on vacation (to England-France...for a whole month!), and work is put to bed for the moment. This last year has been cray-zee with work. It's all good and exciting work (I work in art galleries and it's been a hot year for exhibitions and cool projects), but it doesn't leave me with a whole lot of time for the fun things. Like fandom. Which sucks on some level, because I hate looking at my inbox and seeing...zip.

How are you doing, dolly?

well my timing obviously sucks :-) You go on holiday to Europe (whine...canicometoo...) and I fall over with pneumonia. Wasn't my plan :-)
Much better now and I can only hope you holiday was Fantastic! and that your English weather was warm rather than just warm and wet.

I envy you the working in galleries but I guess that would bring it's own special trials and tribulations. The Musee D'Orsay has just sent alot of it's collection to our NGA (National Gallery Australia) and I am planning a couple of days in the capital just to see it...all those amazing paintings.

If you miss us (in the sense of Fandom) then I'm just gonna keep buggin' ya :-) I think you owe us a Season 3 Bear Hunt still.

Hope all of you and yours are well and happy

I do TOTALLY owe everyone season 3 bear hunt -- it's all DONE, too (well, the hunt and the photos; the actual story and text and putting it together, well, that's not done and that takes AGES). Enjoy the D'Orsay show, I'm sure it'll be good. I od'd on museums on holidays. I'm such a sucker for them.
